2 Exhibitions in Germany, no matter the volcano
Bauma and Hannover Messe are two of the most important worldwide Exhibition for gearmotors (but not only geared motors). The 2010 edition of both of them are just ended, between volcano eruptions and euro crisis.
Why Volcano? Because the icelandic volcano in eruption completely stopped the airport of 3/4 of Europe, and many of the visitor and exhibitors of Bauma and Hannover Messe had huge problems to reach the Fair ground.
And why Euro crisis? Because in these last days Greece officially asked help not to fail.
Bauma 2010 (www.bauma.de) was held in München, Germany, from April 19 to 25. With more than 2,000 exhibitors (Brevini, Sew among the others) and 400,000 visitors the figures confirm the show’s role as the the Europe’s largest show for the construction and building industry.
Who knows how many of the 2000 and 400000 had the chance to reach Munchen? The organizers say “Nearly all exhibitors have arrived”.
The same for Hannover Messe. Nothing seemed to happen: according to the website, “HANNOVER MESSE 2010 has given a further boost to economic recovery, with benefits set to flow through to the industrial sector over the next few months. Exhibitors are feeling upbeat about their future prospects.”
Also the President of the Federation of German Industries (BDI), Hans-Peter Keitel, agreed that the event had been a success: “The volcanic ash cloud paralyzed international air travel, but not HANNOVER MESSE! To the contrary: The exhibitors, and in particular Deutsche Messe, were totally committed to making this HANNOVER MESSE a success.
This was absolutely crucial in light of the incipient economic recovery. The companies and industries who exhibited here now have wind in their sails for smoother sailing ahead, despite any navigational obstacles which might still be in the way.”
We are happy to know that.
