Stober, a pipe to improve gearmotor power by 80%

Stober is going to launch two new series of servo motors with re-defined power density: high quality EZ servo motor systems (e.g. also with liquid cooling) and EZF version with flange mount hollow bore.

According to the german company, they will bring out these motors on early 2010; the new servo motors have super compact design and powerful torque with high dynamic performance (If needed).

The ‘PipeDrive’ motors (EZF) have tooth windings that make use of orthocyclic linear winding technology to produce windings with the highest possible copper fill factor.

This allow to increase motor (and gearmotor) power of about 80%, and allows also the motors to be shorter (almost halved) than in conventional design. The planetary gearbox can be 1, 2 or 3 stages; gear ratios can be of 3, 9 and 27.

Many application fields for these products of Stober: industrial robots (easier to include motors in moving loads) as well as machine tools, automated assembly machines, handling equipments, laser cutting and welding tools.

The bore diameters are 28mm or 38mm and as an option, the flange between motor and gear unit can be designed as a liquid cooling feature.
