Sanyo Denki e Oriental Motor, stepping motors

New stepping motors for Oriental Motor and Sanyo Denki.  The first is a 2-phase motor with high torque and lower heat generation; the other is a 5-phase motor with Integrated Driver and Built-in CANopen Interface. Many target applications: labelling, packaging…

Oriental Motor offers the PKE in addition to the existing 2-phase stepping motors of the PK-Series. It’s a high torque version with high efficiency and reduced case temperature.

Heat is one of the main factors which shorten the lifetime of a stepping motor. The temperature of the PKE-types increases up to 78 % less than the conventional standard motor with the same size. Not only the lifetime is extended, also the cooling becomes simpler, external cooling devices or cooling fins can be omitted.

Low power consumption make Its contribution to the motor’s efficiency. Like with the AR stepping motors, with the PKE-types you can save about 40% energy compared to the conventional standard types.

Few more features of PKE motors:  available with 42 mm frame size in 3 motor lengths (33, 39 and 47 mm), holding torque 0.24-0.55 Nm, compact and lightweight with maximum 390 g mass; even the double shaft version is not longer than 62 mm.

Sanyo Denki offers a 5-phase motor with a wide variety of functions; It’s a simple, compact and cost effective solution for various kinds of applications like medical industry, handling, textile, semiconductor equipment, machine tool.

• Simple, compact and cost effective solution
No cables between driver and motor, installation is simple and EMC safe as switching noise remains within the motor. By integrating the driver and the motor in a single unit, this solution reduces the space in the control cabinet.

• CANopen interface – device profile DSP-402 V2.0
CANopen is perfect for machines and installations. Its specific advantages are high fault tolerance, high flexibility and many detailed diagnostic options (error control / emergency / object dictionary).

• High resolution encoder & loss-of-synchronization detection
Thanks to a 500 PPR encoder, the driver is able of detecting actual position with a high resolution of 2000 PPR and loss of synchronism.

• Low vibration
Vibrations are lower by about 50% from Sanyo previous stepping motor with built-in driver. This function performs automatically micro-step at low speeds allowing smooth driving even at full and half step.

• Micro-step control
25 different micro-step divisions are available, including the 0,72° basic step angle but also multiple of 1.8°. This means that the device can easily be used as a 2-phase stepping motor or replace it easily with 5-phase benefits.

• DC 24 V Brake option
The brake prevents the load from falling if the device is running on a vertical axis.
