Australian Supplier of Components for the Engineering Trade TEA Transmissions has recently announced a new range of planetary gearboxes manufactured by French company Mijno.

Mijno Precision Planetary Gearheads (also available in Stainless steel) are designed for direct mounting to a servo, brushless or stepper motor. The range comes with a two-screw clamping coupling to secure the input shaft to the motor shaft and can be mounted to any motor appropriate for the gearboxes’ torque ratings.

Some features of these gear units:

• Inertial loads can be “matched” to enable servomotors to do their job
• Low backlash facilitates the need for precise positioning in automation applications
• Low backlash also reduce shock loads in dynamic reversing applications
• High mechanical efficiency

There is also an extensive range of standard motor flange adaptor plates available for each gearbox size. The gearboxes can be combined with a low-backlash, right-angled box to enable transmission of rotary motion and power between 90° angle shafts with ratios up to 100:1.
