Emerson Electric, old news

Emerson Electric is a U.S. industrial group and a manufacturer of electric motors. The company is often on newspapers in the last weeks, for different reasons.

In october Emerson announced the plan to close a subsidiary in Mesa, Arizona. Trompeter Electronics Inc. will stop manufature activities, and 135 jobs will be cut, according to the St.Louis Business Journal.

The company, one of Fortune world’s most admired companies in 2009, was on Bloomberg today: Its CEO David Farr criticized the government for excessive regulation and taxes, forcing companies like Emerson to expand and grow overseas rather than in the United States.

“Washington is doing everything in their manpower, capability, to destroy U.S. manufacturing,” Farr said according to Bloomberg.com. “Cap and trade, medical reform, labor rules.”

He went on: “What do you think I am going to do? I’m not going to hire anybody in the United States. I’m moving. They are doing everything possible to destroy jobs.”

Nothing new, It’s not an Emerson exclusive, and It’s not Obama’s fault, we add.
