New features for Varvel gearboxes

Varvel introduces two technical modifies to his production range, on key-coupling between gearbox and motor and on RD series helical gearboxes.

The usual key-coupling between gearbox and motor are replaced by a customized type “G” elastic coupling; important, there’s no increase in the geared motor dimensions. Some of the advantages of this elastic coupling:

  • flexibility and stock-rotation increase
  • inventory reduction, just one reducer stocked for each ratio regardless input shafts
  • zero backlash in motor/reducer fit
  • reduced heat transmission via motor shaft

The elastic coupling “G” is now available on all sizes of the RT series worm gearboxes and on sizes from 28 to 110 of RS series worm speed reducers; furthemore, on RD series helical speed reducers series RD (all sizes),on shaft mounted parallel reducers series RN (all sizes) and on bevel helical gearboxes series RO e RV (all sizes).

The other news from Varvel is about the range of RD series helical gearboxes. Additional reduction ratios are now made in two-stage reducers to match the pump manufactuters‘ needs. The new nominal reduction ratios are: 2,25 – 2,80 – 3,55 – 4,50 – 5,60 – 7,10 – 9,00.

These ratios are already available for sales for all seven sizes: RD02 – RD12 – RD22 – RD32 – RD42 – RD52 – RD62.
