DC input for motor drive
Stepping Motor Drive AR-Series from Oriental Motor are now available with
DC-input, for 24 VDC and 48 VDC. With various gear types and mounting sizes Oriental Motor offers in total 84 new drive solutions with improved energy balance and angle accuracy.
The AR-Series achieves continuous operation due to the reduction of motor heat generation which is not possible for usual stepping motors needing cooling-off time. Energy-saving up to 40 % and an extended life time are also effects of the technical improvements. With dimensions of 35 x 60 x 90 mm the driver of the DC-input type is remarkable compact.
With four frame sizes (42, 60, 85 and 90 mm) holding torques between 0.37 Nm and 37 Nm are realized. In addition to the standard version, versions with taper hobbed gear, planetary gear or harmonic gear are also available.
In Japan the AR-Series has been already awarded as a very energy-saving product with the price of the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry. The jury attested the stepping motor originality and efficiency, remarkably contributing to energy saving.
Like the AC-input type, the previous model Alpha Step and other stepping motor drives of Oriental Motor, the AR-Series contains the Smooth Drive Function. This function automatically implements microstep drive based on the same travel amount and speed used in the full-step mode, without changing the pulse input settings.
